I had my radiator and thermostate replaced and it still leaks water and gets hot. would it be wise to replace water pump and fan belt? How would i know if there is engine damage?

if you let the engine temperature get to the red zone on the temperature gauge,99 percent of the time you damage the cylinder headgasket. to confirm this ,you need a emission gas analyzer machine(cost about 4000.00)and sniff inside the radiator.if it show any hydrocarbon reading on the machine,the headgasket is damage.after you fix this problem,you then need to find out what cause your vehicle to overheat such as having a leak,radiator fan is not coming on,bad waterpump,etc.

the engine block might have a crack in it. Check your oil to see if there is any water in it. I had a '95 honda civic lx and I drove that sucker from los angeles to las vegas and I had the same problem after I came back.

sounds like the water pump don't drive it hot cuz you'll seize the motor and your car will be dead
