It happened while I was typing my last question. The keys are working fine now, but before they weren't responding at all. Did I hit something by accident to make this happen? How do I fix it if it happens again?

Your keyboard has been possessed by an evil source... You must have it exorcised immediately or buy a new keyboard before the evil source crawls up your fingers and into your soul... Then you will have to be exorcised... good luck...

You might have hit one of the keys near it, like alt, or windows or something.

No need to worry though, when the computer doesn't get any further commands to use the facility, it merely exits it on its own, like you've already seen.

Usually, you'll see the cursor hanging, or doing nothing there when you type. The simplest solution is to bring yur mouse cursor there and click once there

It'll reactivate that function.

All the best.

I know that this is a simple answer, but it just might be whats wrong. Just shake you key board upside down because sometimes things get stuck in there like paper clips or staples. I don't know if it will work, but you know its worth a try.

Turn your keyboard over and gentle pat the back to losen any debris. Also you can remove the keys and wash them, when dry put them back. Keyboards get dirty and they do wear out.

I got a virus that made all my number keys stop working before my PC died. Do a virus scan.

Try cleaning your keyboard. Use some of that spray stuff for electronics.
