As an actor you have to find what works best for you, be it throwing yourself fully into that character and crying because you feel their pain, or envisioning something else that brings YOU to tears and using that for the monologue, either way, break a leg!

Do you have a moment in your life where you were so upset & down you didn't know if you would ever get over it? Use that moment. Pretend you are back at that moment. Tears will come. Its hard but do-able.
