It's the content of the book that matters most, not who wrote it... I mean, if the book was about something I wouldn't normally read- say, a romance novel- I'd be unlikely to read it just because it was written by a fourteen year old... still, if it was a nice story with lots of action and people turning into wolves or vampires, maybe even uploading their personalities to the internet, well, I'd probably be quite chuffed with it... it'd be the book I wanted to write when I was fourteen etc but couldn't be bothered, or wasn't talented enough or whatever...
I don't think that authorship is something you can necessarily get in fourteen years- I mean, it's hard work... still, if it comes naturally to the boy, and he's written something interesting to me, sure, I'd give it a shot... if he wasn't talented, or he was writing something I didn't like, I would pass it by, perhaps rightfully so...

I usually give a book 30 pages to catch my attention. Doens't matter the author or type of book. If I like it I read it. If I find out it is a 14 year old boy then more power to him! Thats an amazing gift to be able to write an entire book by the age of 14. :-)

Yes. I have read a book written by a boy younger than eight years old. It is surprisingly well written and tell about his impressions of his teacher, class-mates, and life in general surrounding the school.A 14 year old boy could have above average literary talents, and may produce an interesting book.

If my children were interested in the book that was written by this boy, yes I would. I have already stated that I would read every book my girls read. If my girls were not interested in this book, then I would look at it and ask if it was something that I wanted to read. If not, then no, If so, then yes. I don't look at the age of the author, I look at the content and decide from there.

I would try to read it, but the age of the writer wouldn't be why I may not finish it. I believe that being younger may make the book more interresting because younger people tend to have a better imagination than adults. But if I couldn't get into the story I would probably stop reading.

Sure ,why not? I was browsing through the bookstore, when Icame across "Heartsongs" by Mattie J.T. Stepanek, the young poet who died at age 13 from muscular dystrophy. Some of the poems are obviously written by someone very young, but others showed an insight that was well beyong his years. I would highly recommend his books.

depends on the book, the age of the writer doesnt concern me, its wether it is a book i would enjoy to read, id read it. If it was a badly written book id put it down, if it was well written id pick it back up if i had to put it down...ok im more likley to read it if it's a sci-fi or a comic fantasy story..if its historical drama possibly not

Depends on what it is about.
When you look at the cover at of the book- you look at the title. Nobody will ever know the age of the author! Until they look at the back and read "about the author", anyway. And most people don't do that till they finish the book!

I guess it depends what it was about. If it was non-fiction I prolly wouldn't because i just can't see a 14 year old having enough life experience to write a book.
