The answer is "no" they do not. What really hurts the black community is the existance of the black community. It is understood why the black community exists, especially when black people were forced to be a seperate community for so many years because of segregation efforts. The black people took owenership of "there" community, and it has become a badge of honor. What many of the so called leaders of the black community fail to realize is that the Dr. King's dream was not for the sons of slaves to sit and eat with the other slaves, but for the sons of slaves and the sons of slave owners to be able to sit at the same table. How can this ever occur with the existance of a community with a label. The existance of NAACP at this point in history only serves to keep black people from joining the rest of america, because it is at this point the catalyst for the continuation of segregation. Think about it. As stupid as the existence of the KKK is, you don't see them asking question like, "Does Will Farrel hurt the the white community, by playing a stereotypical redneck in his latest movie?"

My dad used to be around Dave Chappelle in the 80's comedy clubs of D.C. Dave is actually a really smart guy, and a very perceptive guy. He can do really good, clean comedy. But he noticed the somewhat degenerate black society and so to boost himself, he succomes to the gross stereotypical black jokes....and the drugs do it too, dont forget the drugs!

Yes - it just plays into other people's stereotypes. I personally find it offensive and embarrassing. I'm all for knowing how to take a joke, but not at the risk of others.
