To begin with, Canada doesn't use military time, although the 24 hour clock is used in Quebec for reasons to obscure to go into.
As for Canada "never" fighting a war, just to talk about the last century, Canada went to war agains the Central Powers in 1914. During the first gas attack at Ypres in April of 1915, the Canadians were the only unit to hold their position, preventing a German breakthrough. During the first day of the Battle of the Somme, July 1, 1916, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment went over to top; of 800 men in the regiment, only 28 answered roll-call on the following day: 255 were dead, 386 were wounded, and 91 were listed as missing. Every officer who had gone over the top was either wounded or dead. In 1939, Canada declared war on Nazi Germany. The Canadians took part in major operations such as the Dieppe Raid (1942), the invasion of Italy (1943-44), D-Day (1944), and tool the lead in the liberation of Holland. During operations on D-Day, the Canadians were the only one of the allied forces to reach their assigned military objectives. In the Korean war 26,971 Canadians served with the UN forces. The second battalion of the Princess Patricia Light Infantry was awarded a Presidentialk Citation (U.S. President Harry Truman) for preventing the breakthrough of North Korean forces at Kap'young. Canadians particiapted in the First Gulf War, and in Afghanistan -- where the our worst casualties were recieved when an idiot American pilot dropped a bomb on a Candian unit, killing three and wounding several. Canadians are curretnly serving in Afghanistan, providing the lead in operations around Khandahar.
Canada may not have joined in the ill advised American adventures in Vietnam or Iraq, but that seems to have been well advised.

You are very uninformed whoever you are. Canada fought in both the 1st and 2nd World Wars as well as Korea, Veitnam and oh ya the Boer War. Get a brain. You don't have a clue about what you're talking about. Read some history. My husband's two grandfathers both fought in the 1st World War. My Dad was an Airframe Mechanic and my mother was a steno in the 2nd World War. Read some history.

Canada was in both WW1 and WW2 before the U.S. Also, using 24-hour time isn't limited to the military, we use it at my work and as far as I know my company has never fought a war (except maybe with the city council).

Know your History. Canada had a huge role in WW1 and a very large role in WW2. Unfortunately, the last 20 years of a Liberal government has emancipated our military. That has just changed with the election of the new Conservative government and our new Prime Minister has just spend billions on new military equipment and send troops to Afghanistan.

Military time is only called that because it is used for military. It's not exclusive to military. Anyway, all countries have a military, whether or not they have fought a war.

Canada has fought in WWI, WWII, Korea, Nam, Gulf war I and Iraq and that's just what I can think of now. Canada has fought beside America in almost every conflict we have been in since the early 1900s. We just don't hear about it because we live in America. Canadians don't hear a lot about us either.

The War of 1812 is when the United States tried to invade Canada and LOST!
To most Americans it is the French - Indian War.
It's scary to think what "they" are NOT teaching in school these days.

We don't use military time, usually. Did you forget World War One and Two? It's your stupid American Hollywood movies that make it look like the Americans won by themselves. In fact Canada was in there helping the allies long before the U.S. got involved.
