My family doctor put me on Welburtin to help me quit smoking. He also took me off of Zoloft the same day. ( I am on this for High Anxioty) After 2 weeks i thought about commiting suicide. Thank God for friends. I quess i am trying to find out what i should do in this situation. Should the doctor get away with this? Why should i pay the emergency bills. He has been warned before. Please help me.

I believe that you are not supposed to be taken off Zoloft right away, they have to 'wean' you off it.
There is a complaint process you can file about any Dr. call your local Hospital and ask for the number. Then I would call a Lawyer that specializes in malpractice...

you might call you pharmacy and ask them what can happen to you if you are pulled off zoloft and put on welbutrin.

I was on zoloft and the Dr. changed me to welbutrin. I didn't go thru any withdrawals from the zoloft at that time and the welbutrin worked ok until i got hives and found out i was allergic to welbutrin. I did go thru withdrawals from zoloft when i quit taking it and didn't take anything else after i quit. But everyone's system is different. There are adverse side affects to lots of medications. I don't think there is anything you can do in your situation, I don't think the Dr. will get in trouble this time. I'm glad you had caring friends to look out for you, some aren't that lucky.

geez. to me, this is a prime reason why GP's shouldn't be prescribing psychiatric drugs willy-nilly. are you receiving counselling or did you just get pills? i'm more concerned about how you're doing emotionally, rather than the ER bills.it would be my opinion that it would be very difficult to get the physician to "pay" even if warned before, but you can try. please tell me you're seeing another doctor now.
