Amusement Parks, Crystal Beach, fireworks, having picnics at Aunt Margaret's with potato salad and hot dogs, staying at Aunt Mae's house for a few days. Long hot days. Visiting other relatives in different parts of NY State. Playing with bicycles and friends. Doing anything you want and sleeping in.

The sound of cicadas in the trees, snowcones, thunderstorms, tomatoes right out of the garden, going barefoot and not getting dark until 9 pm remind me of summer as a kid.

The smell of chlorine, staying up late, and later sunsets. Waking up later. BBQ's in the backyard, going to amusement parks all summer, (I had annual passports to Disneyland 3yrs in a row)
we went everynight all summer long.
