What i did when about the same thing happened to me was get as much of the silly putty in my hands and roll it up and quickly use that and kind of pound it back together. I used the silly putty in my hands and hit at the silly putty in the carpet and on my couch and i actually got it all up. I was shocked it worked but it did.

Let the puddy dry out and crumble. As it dries scrape with dull side of a knife to help it crumble, then vacuum.

I know this happened to me as a kid and I'm pretty sure my gramma used some kind of oil, vegetable, canola, virgin olive, ect...
I know with gum I always used peanut butter and mayonaise.
Something about the oil gets it out.
Don't use heat or ice.

the ice cube thing doesn't work. My friend did it to her carpet and it became hard and never came off. they had to get new carpet.
