Commercials are an advertising device, utilized to influence select market sects to purchase products and services. Therefore, trying to reflect all Americans might be defeating the purpose of the commercial unless your goal is to target all groups in America.

so you haven't seen the channels that are in spanish that reflect hispanics doing the same commercials? Maybe not all ethnic groups audition for those commercials. Majority of people in the US are black or white, so yes it does reflect the population.

I think they should reflect the demographics of the people they are attempting to sell their products to. On tv stations which are geared toward one demographic, I see actors in commercials which reflect that population.

Aw, come on. Backyard luncheons, restaurant meetings, groups on safari, all with one lone black couple are bad enough, but once you add in examples of every configuration of human being, it's going to look pretty damn artificial.

I see all sorts of colors. Asians, Hispanics, Indians....... maybe you just don't watch the right stations....... I've noticed some networks are color-blind
