You have to admit that the proportion of mormons with trampolines is way higher than that of the rest of American society. And yes, I know that they are good clean fun and exercise, that is not the point of the question. I really think its important to get to the bottom of this.

Not all of us own trampolines ya know! Just the ones that have the yard space and really good injury insurance in case the kids get injured. Not to mention a massive first aid kit! *LOL* Actually I think I know more LDS (aka Mormons) that don't have trampolines then ones who do. Just depends on the people. Besides, what's wrong with trampolines.... I seem to remember them being pretty fun as long as there wasn't too many people on them at once. :-)

Why do so many people in California have swimming pools? :) I think we Mormons have trampolines for two reasons. First, it is good clean fun and relatively inexpensive to buy. Everyone can have fun on one. Second, Mormons like everyone else are subject to peer pressure from ourselves and outside sources. So we that Brother and Sister Jones down the street have a trampoline, so we want one too.

Actually, I think this is more of a Utah culture thing than a Mormon thing. Here in California those with no trampoline outnumber those with trampolines at least ten to one.
Where trampolines are popular you will find families with lots of active kids.
Funny observation.

I have never had a trampoline because my mom is a safety freak. And I don't know a single Mormon in my town with one.

i'm a mormon and i had a trampoline. bue we had to get rid of it cause some unnamed person stretched it when she got on:( and we don't use it to get closer to God. you pray for that. But we do have fun on it. I used to do a whole lot of tricks on it. i loved it!!

I'm Mormon and our family has never had own, although growing up I always wish that we had. I've never noticed a correlation, but I may start paying more attention. :-)

They use them to get closer to God. The higher they bounce, the closer they are to heaven.
