i been thinking about this a while?

hey there y'all. i just noticed something the other day while just looking at the contestants for american idol (which i hate, btw) and i noticed something. all the girls who have made it this far are beautiful, but if u look at the guys...the same cant always be said. so i started thinking about it. why is it girls have to be perfect and the total package but guys dont always have to? i know sometimes it may be harder for a guy to get a date or something, but i mean really?How come that for guys, they often have an exact image for a girl and if the perfect girl comes along and doesnt fit his idea exactly right, she goes unnoticed and is hidden from him behind "perfect" girls? How come, sometimes, guys can overlook a great girl...and it bothers me. and i know, sometimes girls do this too, but i've seen it happen alot with guys...girls can be REALLY leanient at times.

and that brings up another point i have.when a girl is under this pressure, alot of girls slowly move on...but the few who can't...they are another story. how come is it, that this can happen to a girl, then her life can fall apart. look at the world today. every girl wants to be wanted by guys, so they look at what it appears that every guy wants...sex. sex symbols are often seen as gods by people, so girls will try to be like them. they will do just about anything to be like that. they become seen as a "whore" just for having the need to please in order to be wanted, but do you know what goes wrong? the guys leave them because thay are pleased by sex, but maybe (and this oviously hasnt crossed the girls minds if they have gone that far) he wants LOV E not SEX to be happy. so he'll leave to be with a girl who wont give it up like that, and she moves on to the next guy she just happens to be in the mood for. so i have a few questions for u few readers if u dont mind answering. 1. are guys too specific on what they want, or are girls too leanient?

2. do girls change and conform to societies expectations too easily?

3. would girls still have to worry about this stuff if sex wasnt such a big part of society today?

Hard one!!! I'm just a 27 mexican boy... I'd like to apologize myself because I have not a good english yet...
I used to work at Señor Frog's down in Cancún, so I could see what its the difference between different nations girls...
Now, the girls I saw going to this party-restaurant were (In general with a good economy) the kind that are able to get the last fashion dress, a beauty shoes, the new lipstick, etc... and of course the possibility to watch tv, sail trough internet, get the fashion magazine of the month, etc... I mean: Information,
It was very curius to see that the most affected girl by the commercial stuff and the top models style were the usa girls, why? Because we can say that the center of the beauty is USA
Even when we know this is not true, (because beauty is everywhere on the world) we see that these girls believe it.
I mean not to harm anybody but an easy sample is the meditarranean girls are not so easily to change their personality to look more pretty.

I don't consider myself a handsome man, but when I ask that to some girl I just have meet she surely would say: You are not a handsome...
Time pass by and when some girl gives to me the opportunity to let my thoughts go out and talk to her about what I think, and I give the chance to her to be heared. everything changes. At the begining we boys see if some girl is beautiful or not, cause (of course) we want a girl THAT OTHERS WILL SEE JUST TO KNOW WE HAVE THE BEST ONE even when men are so jealous of their girls we are always in competition isn't stupìd?
I see the spectacular performance of the biggest girl stars, the way they put her image everywhere trying to sell as much as they have, It's just amazing...
And these days we, I mean we all humans must change trough our life our preseptions of what is the real important things in life...
To finish..
I have been in love just once, we splat up. I was the guilty one. After that seven had been the girls that have fell in love for me, everytime I tried to love them, but I think I've lost the only chance I got to love but still trying... I don't want to get a beauty, I just want to love again. I wonder if everybody has the wish to love, Would we be the same trying just to have casual sex or handsome guy?

There are a million ways to make a girl look "pretty"/feminine. But there are only a few ways to make a guy look masculine. But no guy want to look pretty/the package/together because that's seen as gay/metrosexual. So that's our culture. In ancient cultures the boys wore as much jewelry as the girls.
You're also watching a lot of TV. In real life if a guy complains because his woman isn't "the package"/perfect, she'll leave him for his metrosexual best friend and he'll be left all alone even years later.
Men either fall apart by thirty and you won't want them, or they pull their act together and will MORE than want you.

In answer to the first part of your question. Girls do tend to be more attractive than males but think about it...how many guys can hide their plain faces by wearing make-up? How many guys can wear high-heels to be a few inches taller. How many guys can stuff their bras?...ha ha..but seriously...I mean guys don't have as many choices when it comes to clothing either...whereas as different styles for woman suit and flatter different female body types. See what I mean? The make-up is definitely the biggest thing. If guys had more to work with I'm sure they would.

i guess there is a lot of pressure from society for girls to be perfect. But not all girls are the same, and not all guys are the same. Girls want to look attractive because they want to attract a mate, yes, but that doesn't mean all girls put out. I do agree that it happens, but you're also making alot of generalizations.

Yeah, I mean, the girls try to look good for GUYS, but the guys just
1) use them for sex, then leave them.
or
2) think: 'any girl who's worthy' or something (I have a brother). Why couldn't it be opposite? That would show those idiots out there... (not all guys are bad)
And also, why do that? I mean, you aren't even looking for LOVE! Just SEDUCTION! But, then again, my philosiphy is: "If you don't see yourself marrying them, why date them?" Your question is too long, but I will answer it shortly. There has forever been a double standard in this world. Women have to be perfect and men can be dog ugly and still be popular and famous. It's a bunch of bull**** if you ask me. I change this in my world by making my standard of men for myself just as high as the standard is set on me. You want me to be hot, then guess what? You'd better be hot too.

Well i think guys maybe pay more attention to looks because guy's are visually stimulated..and girls maybe pay more attention to personality because we're more emotional and like sharing our feelings and getting to know who people are. But I dont believe guys only care about looks..they look at personality too, but whether they talk to a girl or ignore is definitely based on looks. Or at least that's what it seems like.

Would girls stop caring about how they look if sex symbols werent around? I dont know. I know i try to look nice all the time, but it isnt because of sex symbols, i just want to look nice for my guy and want him to notice me. Like i said, guys are visually stimulated. so it is important to look nice for them.
