Most of us on here aren't well-versed on the Canadian education system. But I can tell you that Cosmetology school isn't the most expensive thing in the world. There are usually loan programs available so that you can start working before you have to pay it back. In the US, similar programs cost about $3300 (at least in the Detroit area).

The alternative is to take up Theatre and learn to do makeup as a stage artist. That takes no professional training, just an earnest desire to learn. Once you get experience in that field you'll be able to support yourself and pay for Makeup school.

As for the money issue, they should have student grants and government loans to help out. Most colleges will have this and the best part is that you should not have to start paying the loans back until after you graduate, and then you are allowed 10 years to pay it back. Plus the grants are yours to keep! Ask a local beauty salon where the best place to go to school would be, then ask the college whether they have financial aid. They will know how to get the student loans and grants. I hope this helps. Good luck!
