You could make little crafts and sell them at stores or craft fairs, you could get in touch with a local candy shop, most of them have funraiser ideas. Also you could sell candles, or maybe calenders.

Might not be good for seniors to participate, but.......
Try staging an event in dead of winter where people will be sponsored to jump into a lake or river.
(Superbowl sunday in the Hudson river)
It started started in my hometown on a bet.
It became a charity event to benefit families in dire need due to illness or other misfortune.
Grew from a handful of men in the water (now seeing families) to a major annual event which raises many thousands of dollars.
If "swimmers" are not sponsored directly, spectators on shore will make donations on the spot ... spend $20 for a cup of coffee etc.
Great fun.
Good luck.

My past experience with fundraisers (big ones) include a golf tournament featuring Redskin alumni and a dinner and silent auction onboard a tour boat. Unless you have experience with this kind of event planning, you will probably want to hire someone who does. Good luck.

Set up a neighborhood flag service. Get some American flags ( or what ever country you are in) and set up a schedule of when you will put them up. Sign people up for a certain amount a year and on the specified holidays put up a flag at each house that subcribes.

You can have a bake sale, because i am shure if they are supervised they would love to cook some of their recepies! And those who don't want to cook can help make advertisements for it!
