Make sure the rose bush has good drainage. Be sure to feed it rose food according to instructions on package until fall. I use Miracle Grow.
In areas where mildew is a problem, spray with this home-made tonic lightly once a week:
MIx
2 tbsp baby shampoo
1 tbsp baking soda
1 gallon water
A stronger solution when the mildew is already there:
Mix:
4 tbsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. Murphy's Oil Soap
1 gallon water
...and apply when you see taletale white spots.
If you see blackspot on the leaves, remove them. If removing leaves would deplete the bush, then apply homemade tonic.
Black Spot Remover Tonic:
15 tomato leaves
2 small onions
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
Chop tomato leaves & onions into finely minced pieces, & steep them in the alcohol overnight. Paint the brew on both the top & bottom of any infected leaves.
Antidote for Rose Aphid
1 orange peel, coarsely chopped
1 tbsp. baby shampoo
2 cups water
blend on high speed for 10-15 seconds. Strain into coffee filter, & pour liquid into handheld sprayer. Hose down bushes to knock off aphids. Then mist spray the plants.
To prevent slugs from doing damage, spread coffee grounds( in moderation) around base of bush.
In the North, protect plants the first year you plant & every year if you are not totally sure if they can withstand the winter cold.
Hope this helps. :)

Ha ha, very easy !!!
Dig the earth around the bush roots carefully so that the roots are not damaged. mix small quantity of a mild fertilizer in the soil and refil the pit gently. Water it to full moisture. Afterwards keep watering but not too much.
Well, if you have grown the rose bush in a pot, then:
Pull the plant gently out of the pot, change the soil. Place the plant in the pot and fill it with soil, then water it slightly so that only the air trapped in the soil is released. Dont water too much.
Tip: Regularly trim the bush. Grow rose bushes at a place where it gets maximum possible sunlight.
Smile, like a rose flower. Wish you!

Love it, if it's a hybrid tea or florabunda, prune in early spring. Do not apply any fertilizer after end July as this will encourage growth when you don't want it. Rose bushes love horse manure. When it flowers tell it how beautiful it is.
