Oh great question!
1) Martin Luther King Jr. I adore the man. I could sit and listen to him make speeches all day long. Such a passionate and altruistic man. It would truly be an honour to be in his presence.
2) Bob Dylan. I was not around in the days when his music was revolutionary but I can appreciate his lyrics in this day and age. Such a great lyricist and I imagine I would have a lot in common with his socialist views.
3) Gough Whitlam. I doubt whether anyone outside of Australia would know the guy. He was our Prime Minister in the early seventies, again before I was born. However this man was way ahead of his time, took Australia to new heights, allowed for free medical care, free education, and got rid of conscription. His ruling of free universities allowed for my Dad to get a good education when his family didn't have a dollar to their name, and hence I have a good quality of life since my Dad was able to take his education far. Gough is 88 now and still has an intelligent wit, I'd love to meet him before he dies.

Being a Canadian I would invite a great Canadian Hero, a great Canadian politician and Jim Morrison. Terry Fox was a runner who lost one leg to cancer and attempted to run across our great country. He had to stop his run as his cancer came back and he ended up dying from it. While he was in hospital there was a marathon in his honour. He hoped to collect $1 from every Canadian. To date he has raised hundreds of millions of dollars and runs continue to be held in his honour yearly. As a matter of fact we Canadians minted a looney (Canadian dollar) with his likeness on it to celebrate the 25 anniversary of his run. The politician would be Pierre Trudeau. He was our Prime Minister when John and Yoko were travelling the world for their bed ins. John called him the world's coolest leader. He is famous for many things and was well recognized the world over. He is also famous here for giving a one finger salute to the media and for a famous quote "fuddle duddle" when he was suppose to have said F**** to a member of the opposition once. And Jim Morrison to see if he would give up a song for the other invited guests. Moonlight Drive or Break on Through would be great.

My mom - Just to say a goodbye because she was killed suddenly.
Jesus - Then I could put all that 'does God really exist' business to rest.
Queen Elizabeth I - I would want to know where she found the strength and courage to tell all the men who told her to marry to screw themselves and ruled VERY, VERY effective herself.
