Well it depends on your baby. Listen to what your OBGYN doctor is telling you. They know what is best for you,and your baby. Your doctor knows what hap pend the last time you had your baby they are watching out for the safety of you, and your unborn baby. My son came 2 wks. earlie, and I had to have a emergency C-section. I was bleeding from the inside my OBGYN DR. didn't know if my son did something or something else made me bleed.

What? A baby cannot handle 96 hours of labor? My DR, had to induce me after 19 hours because the babies heart couldn't take it anymore. They said it is virtually impossible for anyone to carry on labor further than 24 hours. They said a baby cannot handle the stress of hard labor for that long. I was really disappointed because I wanted a natural birth. At any rate, if you don't want to go through the hassle of labor then you can schedule a C-section with the hospital.

Just because you had a 96 hour labor with baby #1 doesn't mean that it will be the same for you second child. A c-section has 5-7 times the risk of death for a mother.

Certain things may prolong labor.
Having an epidural
Being induced or having labor augmented with pitocin. (NOT recommended for VBAC mommies)
Having back labor (a posterior baby) Very common with induced babies.
Being confined to bed.
Feeling a lot of distress during labor.

Look into having a doula at your birth. Many women that I know who have had sucessful VBACs had a doula to support them.

i hope your not going to the same doc because 96 hrs is horrible i can't believe they let you suffer that long. I'm having my third c-section i wish i would of spoke up and found a doc who would let me have a vbac because every pregnancy is different and this time you might not have any complications.

they left you in labor for 96 hours? thats like......4 days.......the limit is 24 hours, and thats pushing the possibilty of there being health risks to the baby. anyways, with my second one, the doctor did my c-section 2 weeks before my actual due date.
