yes they are there to help and they might be able to direct you to some counselors that u could talk to in your area that might be able to help you to over come your depression. The sucide hotline is to ensure that not so many people will do the whole suicide thing and to keep people from thinking that it may be an answer i say go for it and call if u are really feeling that bad i mean it cannot hurt and it might help.

Yes you can. They can direct you to the appropriate counseling center tailored just for you. Depression happens to everyone. Prolonged depression affects 1 in 3 people. There is so much help out there. Just call. They are caring individuals who will listen.

If you have been depressed for over a year you should call your doctor and make an appointment. You are probably clinically depressed and being on some medication would probably help you out a lot.

When I was depressed, I just broke down in front of my family and admitted it to them. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but was also the smartest thing I've ever done. They were very supportive and helped me find the help I needed. It ended up being medication, but it worked and I've never regretted it. Don't under-estimate the power of your loved ones! Good luck!

Of course. They should recommend a combination of therapy and drugs. Especially if you have been depressed for over a year. COuld be a chemical imbalance.

yes, anythoughts that are depressing for that long can change with a situation that might drive you to suicide. If there is no one that you can talk to that is close write your thoughts and feelings down in a journal, but please talk to someone soon, it will really help.

you should see a therapist or a counselor. Many times we are depressed because of unresolved issues from the past, or current stressors. Talking to a proffessional helps and its confidential too. They will help you.
