I think social isolation has become quite a problem nowadays, and not everyone knows who their neighbors are. What do you think?

My neighbor to the left is my best friend and her family, and to the right is little old Martha who lives with her cat. She comes over and watched Desperate Housewives with my mom. Across the street is Rose, our insurance agent from State Farm(really, they are there). Down further on the street are the immagrant family from Mexico, who work at the Mexican resturant a few blocks away. The kids there make a ton of noise, which I find very humorous. The mother of that family is going to to teach my mom Spanish. We know a few of our neighbors. :3

One of the first 10 things I did when I moved into this house was to find out my neighbors names. YES!

I do know their names, but I agree that social isolation is a growing problem.

I don't really care to know what my neighbors names are. Why should that be important? If we live in the same neighborhood then that doesn't mean we have to be acquainted in that kind of way. That's just too close for comfort for me.

Some of them I do... when I was growing up everyone knew everyone else in the neighborhood but then new people moved in and now its another generation of parents raising little kids. I guess they all know each other though but not me.

i live in a high rise I know 30 people by full name and 20 more by first or nick name to say hello , this is a senior building and we see each other at activities

I know they are Larry and Liz and they have 2 children at home and the rest are married with children. I can tell you everything about them!
