Want to be empathetic, also want to show displeasure with the effort and follow up they put forth....they had no idea the deal ever went down.

Go to www.zigziglar.com. Zig gives the best advise for any type of sales problem. He has a book about closing a deal, and it really helped my Dad when he changed careers and was in sales. I have several of his books, he can really help. Just a suggestion...

Gotta go! Gotta go! Get rid of him!

Are you familiar with the 80/20 rule in sales.... 80% of the salesmen create 20% of the sales.... The other 20% of the salesmen create 80% of all sales! Unless this is just a freak occurrence and this guy falls in the 20% that make 80% of the sales.... I would just see this guy as a liability!

Unfortunately, a salesman is only as valuable as his last quarters numbers! It sounds like this guy is soft and well fed. You need a hungry hardass!

Empathetic... Don't go there... This moron didn't even know that the deal went down....

Ask this guy what time he gets out of bed in the morning....
Ask to see his records of appointments that took place after 12 pm (noon) on fridays since the begining of the year.

I'm willing to bet he says he gets up @ 6-630 (i'm on the eastcoast and I have 10-15 cell calls by 630 am.)
And I'm willing to bet that he cannot produce five appointments that took place on a friday afternoon. !!there has been 29 fridays since January 1st!!

I bet he doesn't miss his vacation time!!!

At the turn of the year, I helped my employier impliment large sallery cuts for the salesmen in our company... (me being one of them!) I have only been in sales for 2.5 yrs. I have been in my industry for 8 yrs. I have cleared 250 grand in comission each year. We had salesmen that were soaking up that 60 grand sallery and not making the sales... My commision for the year is higher than most of their total sales! We now pay our salesmen 18-20 grand sallery.. about enough to cover vacations and insurance. That has weeded out the packers and has left the field open for those of us who like to make money!

That girl above me is right... I get Zigs newsletter e-mailed to me every tuesday!
