How many of you, also, are perfectly normal looking girls, but not getting any dates, etc., because you're considered the local Brainiac?

I guess after all these years I'm STILL p*ssed off that I never had any dates...not even to the Prom, just because I never learned to squeal or jump up and down when a guy looked at me, and I read Time and Scientific American instead of Style or Self.

Just want to know if there are any other unfortunate female nerds, geeks, etc. who get supercharged grades, but spend a lot of quiet evenings at home...ugh.

Feel free to add very horrible detail, I'm sympathetic.

I was EXACTLY in the same position as you were. I was quiet and nerdy but not ugly at all. Guys looked at me as just the girl who didn't want to conform. Guys always gave attention to the popular girls who would definitely do ANYTHING to get attention. That made me bitter for awhile, but I still didn't conform to them, and that made me feel good. Now, I see all those "popular" kids outside and guess what? Most of them look horrible (fat, pimply, etc.)

I'm the same type of person as you are.

But I really don't care that much. I don't want a date; I don't want a boyfriend; I'm okay with things as they are!!

I'd honestly rather spend a "nice, quiet evening at home" than go to a prom that will definitely leave me with a headache.

I DO have friends who are boys, though. Some of them are even greater "Brainiacs" than I am. It's just that where I live, being like we are happens to be rather normal...

(To m_diddy04, the chap who posted below me: My friends who are boys are more than willing to discuss intellectual matters with me. They're nice, open-minded folks, not misogynists like you.)

Exactly the same thing happened to me the first 2 years of H.S. I knew the guys wanted to ask me, but were afraid to because they had me in an image rut in their heads, thinking that I was "off limits", because I was a star-student. I got impatient waiting for them to get smart and brave. (hehe)! So I solved their problem, by getting seriously into martial arts (Kung Fu) in my 3rd and 4th year (and ever since)! Then, suddenly, they all got smart and brave, and the problem was solved.(hehe)! So ever since I have more dates than time. They even date me knowing that I can kick their a_ _ if they are bad! (hehe)!....Well,maybe not!! (hehe)!

You know what it is? Men can exchange and discuss intellectual matters with each other. They choose a women who will be subservient, and clueless. If you have fully functional mind then it's a turn off for them. It's all about looks and extreme phoniness. They want trophies, not mini Einsteins...
