The baby's urine is actually what makes up a good part of the amniotic fluid, which the baby breathes to survive. However, on a rare occasion near birth a baby can go poop in the womb. This is very dangerous, because the baby can breathe it in and either get a nasty infection, or suffocate.

"Amniotic Fluid -- Liquid surrounding the fetus, composed of secretions from the placenta, fetal urine and other minor constituents. It circulates constantly and is replaced every few hours."
It's important for pregnant women to drink plenty of water during pregnancy to help their bodies replace the amniotic fluid.
"Meconium -- A greenish substance that builds up in the bowels of a growing fetus and is normally discharged shortly after birth."
And yes, it is dangerous to the baby if the meconium comes out before the baby is born. It's more likely to be a problem if the baby is full term or overdue.

Yes, it does urinate. The amniotic fluid replenishes its self every 24 hours. that's why its so important for pregnant women to drink plenty of water, and why you have to pee all the time! :)
*edit* To the person who said no, they have obiously not been to an ultrasound where they specifically look at the bladder of the baby to make sure the kidneys are in good working order. Geeez lol what to they think , the baby crosses its legs for 9 months? lol They dont have bowel movements tho. that is called meconium and isnt expelled until birth.

I assume you meant "womb"
the answer is normally, no
the baby in the womb has no food in its stomach, nothing in the intestines, no "digestive" processes
the baby is nourished with blood from the mother through the placenta and returning blood carries the tiny amount of baby's cellular wastes back to the mother, and the mother eventually eliminates these wastes
the baby doesn't breathe either, the mother breathes and the blood takes oxygen to the baby just as it takes nutrients

yes ... normally only urinating.
Sometimes if a baby is close to term or past due, he or she will have a bowel movement inside the womb. This is called 'meconium' and if it is breathed in by the baby can be VERY serious.

Yes, it pees and it is sterile. The baby swallows the fluid around him, which has hair and skin cells in it, and that's where meconium (it's first poo) comes from. It's nasty, but we all did it.

Yes, babies urinate in the womb. But they don't have their first bowel movement until after birth.
