. Our freedom is disappearing a little at a time. If the people don't start standing up for their freedom soon, by the time the general population is discontent enough to fight for their freedom they won't be in a position to gain it. Today's big government makes me sick to my stomach. Our founding fathers never meant for the u.s. to ever take the direction we are heading. They knew what freedom and liberty was really worth and here we are just giving it away to big goverment. I'm furious just thinking about this whole subject, I'm ready to pick up a picket sign and raise hell somewhere.

Its called "smoke and mirrors." You draw attention to issues of a "Godly" nature to take attention away from the inhumane and immoral policies of the Right. For example, they talk about how abortion is killing an uborn child and God would never allow it and its immoral. Yet, the Right readily pull the switch on a grown man on death row. They also wholehartedly support war after war, which by the way kills many many children as well as adults. Why can they be so inconsistent? Because they distract the masses with the Bible while they actually are more immoral and have more blood on their hands then anyone that even thinks of going agaist one of their policies.
Example: abortion. (disclaimer: I do not condone abortions, this is just an example of the inconsistencies.) I say, choose a side. Pro life: Save ALL human lives--all lives--not only the lives of unborn children who probably will end up dying because of one of their inconsistent policies, later on in life or
Pro choice: give a person a choice of what to do with their body given their circumstance (prochoice).
And if we had less government, there would be no basis for having a Republican party.

Maybe it's because people are too lazy or scared to contemplate the really serious issues we face today that so many would rather get wrapped up in meaningless petty "causes". These things are transparent to folks who are willing to live with their eyes open but if you try to point this out you're liable to get blasted with venom. Just look at the vicious attacks that you get on this site when you ask a simple question. It's scary.

No, actually it's just pay back for all the fat donations the party got from Indian gaming interests and state gaming interests. If we let people gamble online, who is going to go to the state operated race track/casino or take a drive out to the 5 star resort casino the local tribe built.
It's just Republicans doing what they always do, looking out for those who donated the most to their campaigns.

The world's going to hell in a handbasket, but at least the GOP is there tackling the real issues...On-line betting, flag-burning, gay marriage - you know, the issues that effect all of us every day. I can't tell you how many times I had to miss work because of all the flag-burners in my way. Thanks, GOP!

... they are transparent if you're paying attention...
but that is the key, most people aren't... so it will work... that's the sad thing... the majority of Americans don't care enough to even keep their politicians straight and the politicians know that...

but you do have to admit there are a lot of dems for it as well.which falls in line with their "i know better" attitude rather than keeping out of my entertainment.
