Yes. My parents were assured by the bozo doctor that I was to be a boy. When I arrived as a girl, they had no names selected. My dad went home to tell the family...a sister 10, a sister 7 and a brother 3 about my birth. He asked the girls aged 10 and 7 for a name recommendation. They were watching a puppet show on tv called Punch & Judy. Thank goodness they didn't pick Punch.

Yes, and I hate it!
My mother was in love with her cousin when she was a teenager, but they knew they couldn't marry, and supposedly got over it. So when she married my father later, she named me after this cousin, but never told anybody where she got the name. She died when I was a baby, and in 1990 at a family reunion, I met this cousin she'd been in love with, and he told me about their great love - then when he discovered what my middle name was, he was thrilled.
The really bad part is that the guy's name is Gaylord. Sheesh. So she made my middle name Gaylene. Gaylene isn't so bad on it's own, but Gaylord turned out to be a real jerk, and I hate the fact that I am named after him. So I don't generally even admit to having a middle name, just an initial.

Yes my Dad was in love with one of the Charlies Angels in the 70's so he gave me her name. It was better than the one my mom picked out.

yeah, and dont laugh, the singer cher, but thank god she and sonny bono were on the 1976 cover of the tv guide or i would be named annabell julie.
