chairbinder has so far given the worst answer... between boston and new york!!! there's a million places to shoot downn an airliner even if somehow it does kill a person or two on the ground, if it doesn't crash into a populated building in DC. its worth it.

No one in this country ever expected an attack like the one of 9-11, we assumed that we were safe and it is that assumption that cost this country very dearly. There has been so much finger pointing on who is to be held responsible
but in fact there is no one person to blame, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, sons, daughters, and unborn children were victims of hate, they did nothing wrong they were american citizens doing what they did every day and because someone hated america they died. I have family in the military some are active and some are retired, the active members drill everyday to make sure that 9-11 will never happen again, or so they pray, my brother is a retired seal that will show no hesitation in becoming active again should another attack take place.

Between Boston and New York where can one dump a Passenger plane. If SAC shot it down, all the fuel hits the ground or what ?
If I gave you two 45's and a 308, a long with 2 grenades, and a Rocket. and told you in 24 hour I would attack your house, you could not stop me or us.

At first we didn't know they were going to attack. Usually, hijackers just demand money or something, and eventually land. Why would we kill all the passengers when we were going on the assumption that they were going to land anyway? We weren't counting on the hijackers being suicidal.
It was poor planning, but the ones over DC were getting ready for an exercise. They didn't even have missiles.

Because they couldnt read the minds of the terrorists....
where were you ?
Did you know right away that it was a purposeful act? I remember standing in a hospital room with a patient and watching that second plane go into the tower and yelling LOOK they are doing this on purpose. Until then I thought it was an accident.....

Don't be fooled. The whole 9/11 deal was a gigantic conspiracy by our own government. All part of the New World Order plan to wipe out as many people as they can, and turn the world into a fascist police state dictatorship. Don't believe me? Just wait and see.

Why on earth would we shoot down civilian planes. The biggest reason I would say is that they go 500 mph and by the time they found out what was going on it was to late. I bet it never happens again, at least not like that.

They didn't know it was going to happen.
We were blindsided by violence unprecedented in this Country.
The two into the Towers alerted the Military. The one into the field was because the passengers realized what was happening and stopped it, ending their own lives. The one into the Pentagon is questionable.. maybe we did shoot it down..

They wouldn't have if they even had to.
The military cannot fire on it's own people.
Ãlso there was not a lot of time to even decide what to do.
Even if they would have shot them down it would have been considered murder.
That is why there are so many regulations to get on the plane in hopes of not letting the same situation happen.

no one knew there was a problem until after the second plane flew into the tower. When the first one hit everyone thought it was an accident. By the time we realized we were being attacked it was too late to scramble the jets.

This is the US government. Exactly how long do you think it takes to get clearance to shoot down a plain full of civilians? Unfortunately, as a country, we're not really prepared for these kinds of events.
