How, if possible can i retrieve something i've delete from my computer AND my RECYCLE BIN? I've been working with pomputers (windows xp) for sometime now but i haven't been able to figure this out, i'm not even sure it's possible. I think i made a very big mistake and i would really rather not have to redo what i've deleted so i would REALLY apprecoated it if you could let me know how, that is if it's possible.

THE WHOLE STORY:
I had a demo version of a software, then i got the full version and deleted the demo version (and emptied the recycle bin) before installing the full version. Later realizing that i had some still usefull files on the demo version that i hoped would transfer into the new full version but it is no longer attainable.

When you delete something you merely "mark" it for overwriting. The data is usually still on your hard disk until your computer needs the space for something else.

You may be able to recover it using file recovery software, but you will have to pay for the software.

One such piece of software is http://www.pctools.com/file-recover

I believe there are commercial products out there that can sometimes recover deleted files. When a file is deleted, only it isn't completely erased - it's just marked as free space. Until that free space is overwritten, it's recoverable -- at least in theory.

Sometimes everything is in the log books of a security such as Norton Anti virus. You can retrieve them there sometimes or atleast on my computer.

There are programs you can purchase for a small amount that will allow you to retrieve the file. Here is just one of them.
