How profitable is it really to be one of those "Home Party" Consultants (I'm a full-time teacher already)

Question

Like "Body Shop at Home" or "Tastefully Simply?" As a working mother already, can they really bring in some extra PROFIT?

You can generate some income, but at the "cost" of testing some relationships. Afterall, people come with an almost OBLIGATION to buy, rather than for what you might have to genuinely offer. There ARE much better alternatives.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Complete Idiot's Guide ® to Party Plan Selling by Gini Graham Scott
* Build It Big: 101 Insider Secrets from Top Direct Selling Experts by Direct Selling Womens Alliance (DSWA)

Hi Deb D, I too was a teacher but now work at home online. I have tried the party plan but was never home to do what i loved best, being a parent. We have tried many things and have found a company
that has been around for 21 Years and pays you to
advertise for them. My wife and I just started and are
