I really like the 1989-1992 Playin' in the Band improved instrumental sections, when the band leaves the song form behind and creates a undefineable genre of music. They also would do it during Crazy Fingers and, of course, Dark Star.

The Grateful Dead were beyond a "jam band" when they played theses songs in 1989-1991. Please don't suggest a jam band to me. I want to hear undefinaeble music. Thanks.

God, I hope there isn't! Once the dead, who, rolling stones, are gone, we need to leave them in there graves forever. No tribute bands, nothing. They need to die a peaceful death already!

Phish is a similiar sounding band to the Dead. Although they are no longer together, you can buy their CD's about anywhere.
