If my "todem" was an orange monkey, I would be seriously worried about that.

I don't believe in Todems. I have a difficult enough time believing in guardian angels, spirit guides, or anyone else on the "other side" who's supposed to be looking over my shoulder to protect me. Also, if I had an animal as a guide, is that supposed to comfort me? What if my Todem is a dog? Dogs eat their own feces and eat out of toilets. What good does that do for me? I'll go it alone, thank you. Tell my Todem to sit...I said SIT! Good boy.

Yes, I do believe in totem spirits. They don't always have to be animals, but usually are. And the animals aren't the real totem. They are a representitive of a concept such as patience or fear.
My totem is loyalty, which is represented by the dog. I've learned a great deal from my totem over the years. Loyalty can be a hard lesson to learn. And it can be a true test of character.
Some examples of other totems can be: transformation, represented by butterfly; gathering, represented by squirrel; and power, represented by horse.
Sometimes it's not always that simple, those animals are
closely connected to those concepts to me. They may mean something else to others. I only know what they mean to me.
Also you usually have one main totem, if any, but others may come in to your life at any time. You can call on a particular totem as well when your in need of help in a particular area.
Totems are all around you, if it is your desire to seek one, good luck.

Yes I do. We are always receiving messages in nature, only that we just have to be more open and aware of them. I wrote a post on my 360 page about my interesting experiences with the White Owl.

And a follow up on it:

I also dreamt of a white raven last year.
