I am middle-aged and want a long lasting relationship. My family and friends think that I am past the time to want this. Is it dumb to want romance and love in your life even when your middle aged?

I am 56 years old and I long for a long term relationship.
I want it so badly, I was married for a long time and left the A H.
I almost remarried twice, but the red flags were way too big.
I have met some wonderful men on Yahoo Personals.
But, I am very sure that I don't want to end up with a jerk or a problem worse than my marriage.
I have had many men interested in me. but I won;t just settle.
Get on Yahoo personals and go for it
Romance is hotter and more exciting at this age
It is amazing

I don't see why it is stupid. What is wrong with wanting friendship that turns into love and romance. It is what makes the world go around. You are never too old for love and romance. I have been in a long relationship called marriage, and I would never trade it for anything in the world. I just hope it lasts forever. 21 years and counting on many more to come.

No, I think that you want to find a long lasting relationship, that's exactly where you need to be, however, you must not forget.....don't force a seemingly bad relationship and stretch it out, just cause you want something long term, find someone you like who's looking for the same, and even if they're not, as long as you like each other, and move along together, the long lasting part will come automatically

Nobody can guarantee that a relationship will be long lasting. Its not dumb to want romance and love in middle aged but always put in your mind that long lasting relationship takes two person efforts to make it happen. When you meet someone right, its doesn't mean this person will always makes you happy everyday. Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry because of the relationship that not appeared to be perfect all the time. With or without romance and love, life still have to go on.....

No. I'm middle-aged, and I'd love a long lasting relationship. It isn't something I'm obsessing over, but I'm keeping an open mind.

I'm not going to leap into anything. I don't need anyone to make my life complete, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice. However, I will be perfectly content if it doesn't happen again.

The whole key is that you lead a full life and are happy/content with who you are WITHOUT someone else. If the RIGHT someone arrives, then you make room for them. But don't make it your major focus in life.

You long for the same thing every human being longs for. You are not stupid. These days it seems harder for us to find someone to share ones life with. Our society is too selfish, egocentric, there is very little space for achieving that long lasting relationship we all desire.

Giving up a part of you, to accept that special someone. is no easy task for most of us. Thus, we end up alone, flirting and meeting fun people but just for a little while.

You are by no means stupid! I am in the same boat you are! It is not dumb to want romance and love in your life! I believe that I (as a middle aged woman) am beyond playing head games. Face it we have been there done that......and don't want to do it again. We are older, more mature and expect more from our relationships than a one night stand. Stick to your guns, and wait it out, there are actually men out there who want the same thing, and remember the things that make your heart pitter patter are worth pursuing! Best wishes, and I hope you will find the love of your life!

Deffinately Not!! It shows that you value stability and want a serious, intimate, lasting relationship. There's nothing wrong with that!
