False. But the saying itself "Money can't buy happiness" I think is wrong. I'm not poor...you're not poor unless you've seen REAL poverty, but anyway - I tend to feel better when not worrying about finances (my college tuition, how much I'll be making when I get into the real world...etc.)

Not sure, but I can give you mine personal experience. Growing up very poor, I often had to live with very little. In fact, I became homeless at 14, for a while. Even though being poor, was tough, not having a close family (my family was involved in drugs) was even worse. Now I have more money and I got a scholarship and finished school and have a good paying job and a nice apartment and a boyfriend. I am happier than I have ever been before, because I finally have the love and security
I have always wanted. No amount of money can do that.

Some people who are broke do say this but some who have money say this because they have it and have nothing to show for it because they are actually not happy themselves. But I really can't say. Well one thing that I can say is that MONEY SURE MAKES ME A HELL OF A LOT HAPPY.

It makes sense. People who know that money can't really buy happiness don't have incentive to work much either. I just do a cost benefit analysis. Usually I ask "is it worth taking random orders about random stuff just to be well fed and have steak etc?" Mostly the answer is no, I'd rather eat oatmeal and be poor. REALLY, the thing I want is good sex, can't get it while trapped in a bad marriage

True. They say that because they are happy and don't have money so they really wouldn't know if it made them happy or not. Also they can't spend a lot of money probably so they can't get things that make them happy. They also really care about there families so they feel that if they have their family they don't need money. So they deal without there money and they started saying that phrase.

And isn't this ironic . . . the Beatles made a TON of money to the song "Money Can't Buy You Love."
But it sure did buy them a lot of happiness . . . I guess.
So if money can't buy love or happiness, what good is it?
Since I don't want mine anymore, do I have any takers!

I'm not broke and I think $ can buy happiness, so I guess kind of true but you have to ask very rich people too.

people with money still have issues.
think of all the people in the music business or professional sports that feel the need to use drugs.
money can make some troubles disappear, but if you have a poor self image or "daddy never loved me" issues, money won't make those go away.

do you truly believe that with all the money in the world you can be happy....listen to this...why do you think that most rappers move out of their neighborhood when they get rich....because they are SCARED because they feel like they have more to live for.
it truly comes down to life's lessons....if you have been taught to always respect your money then your money will respect you.
and no i am not broke by any means necessary. i am what i call my self a "pharmacist"
