how come everbody thinks of georia, north carolina, south carolina, alabama, texas and tennesee as southern states but they dont think of florida as one (the state farthest south)? this has ben bugging me and i cant figure it out. does any one know?

BECAUSE FLORIDA IS MADE UP OF PEOPLE FROM THE NORTH AND IT'S LIKE A HOLDING STATE FOR THE OLDER PEOPLE WHO RETIRE THERE

Florida's odd, because the population there is made up of mostly people from other states. The further North you go in Florida, the further South you are in terms of culture.

Most of Southeast Florida is made up of people from NY, NJ, MA, or PA. Most of the Tampa area is people from IN, IL, MI. Except for North Florida, its more northern than southern.

Cause the farther south in Florida you go the less rednecks you see. I'm from North Florida.

I think because some 75 to 80 % of the people who are there are from somewhere North.

Don't know. I just moved to sanford last year from Austin, Tx, and I've never been this far south. I's ok, but I miss TX. too bad all my ex's live there. I swear they wrote that song about me...livin' in the south baby

Who is everybody. When i think of the South i think of Florida first.

Because most everyone in Florida is from New York, Ohio or Michigan. And we don't say "y'all".
