Sorry, I guess anyone who's not spent any time or never lived in Japan won't have a clue what I'm referring to, (so don't answer) and even those who have or do still won't which song I'm referring to!!! All's I can say is that it's extreme;y popular, (in Japan of course) and in every Karaoke evening at least one person will sing it. Thanks for reading.

i tkink you might be looking for a song called suyaiki by a japaneese singer named kui sakamoto, this song was a number in 1963, i had the record on a 45 many years ago. some radio stations that play an old music format will play this song from time to time. i did hear a story a few years ago that stated that kui sakamoto had been killed un a plane crash. you can find a remake of this song done in the 70s by a taste of honey.

It could be Aishiteru by Kome Kome Club.

It's a ballad, and it means 'I love you'. I think it's at least 10 years old.
