Yes....a one ton is nothing more then a F250 van or light duty truck....CDL's are required when the gross vehicle weight with payload reaches 26,000 lbs....that would be considered a 10 ton.

However....if your boss is involved in delivering material not his own...for instance...he's a roofer and he wants you to deliver the materials to a job site, then an operators license will be sufficient.

If he is having you make deliveries that have a prior or subsequent movement by ocean or air or have a origin or destination outside the state you are in...the you will be required to get a chauffeurs license.

Normally you can because that is just a bit larger than a pick up truck.. BUT.. be careful. Some companies (business) require a person driving their vehicles of 1 ton and above.... have a CDL

In the State of Ct you can drive anything as long as there are no air brakes involved on a truck.

lol yes as long as you dont tow anything over 10,000pounds you wont need a cdl
