Hezbollah is a political party and a militant group that reside in Lebanon. Only some of Lebanese people agree with them. They did kidnap two Israeli soldiers, and continued to attack Israel, as well. Israel demanded the return of their soldiers and when that didn't happen, they attacked Hezbollah. Now, you can't attack Hezbollah without attacking parts of Lebanon, since that's where they live. Many people are being killed in Lebanon and Israel. This will only stop if someone is able to negotiate a peace agreement, which will obviously involve the safe return of the soldiers. I hope it happens very soon. There has been too much killing.

The first point to bear in mind is that the crisis did not truly
begin with the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah. The
kidnappings presented a serious problem for Israel, but could not, by themselves, define the geopolitical issue. That definition came when Hezbollah rockets struck Haifa, Israel's third-largest city, on July 13. There were also claims coming from Hezbollah, and confirmed by Israeli officials, that Hezbollah had missiles available that could reach Tel Aviv. Israel's population is concentrated in the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem corridor and in the Tel Aviv-Haifa corridor. In effect, Hezbollah had attained the ability to strike at the Israeli heartland. Hezbollah has been hitting the northern part of this heartland, as well as pounding Israel's northern frontier.

Formerly, Syria had troops in Lebanon. When Syria withdrew its troops Hezbollah could operate freely

Everybody failed to mention why the soldiers were kidnapped from the first place, only last month Israel was attacking Gaza every single day, killing children, even shooting people by snipers when they are just sitting in their home, people of Gaza are starving because they are isolated from the west bank, children were killed everyday and still are to the moment, no body thought of ending that, or even trying to help, it was too much, soldiers were in Gaza everyday killing, shooting and torturing, where was everyday before the soldiers were kidnapped, nobody cared, and you can check and still hear what they are doing in Gaza and how many children are killed up to date and even after the war on Lebanon started, and then decide who started the aggression.

Lebanon is a country were terrorists sneak into Israel and homicide bombers kill civilian Israelis in market places and other venues. This has been going on for years and finally Israel decided they reached the last straw and started to use missiles and bombs against the terrorists. Of course the terrorists shot back.
