Tortoises live a very long time, and so do parrots. Both of them usually need to be willed out because they can sometimes live between 60 and 100 years! If you want something more along the lines of a cat or dog, indoor cats who are spayed or neutered when they're about six months old live longer than cats allowed to go outside and cats that are never fixed or fixed later in life. Small dogs live longer than large ones, (unless they're super-tiny), and dogs who are fixed at about six months of age usually live longer than those who are not fixed also.

I just found the hermit crab I was crab sitting laying there lifeless.

Don't pick one of those.

It's terrible. I don't know if I should bury it or throw it in the trash.

How about a turtle? I was turtle sitting it and it is still kicking.

Good luck.
