Some cough syrups have codiene & alchohol in them! In NY you need a prescription to buy them but I remember when they were sold OTC! And yeah depending on your tolerance you can get high!

Check the ingredients list. NyQuil has the most alcohol content. Kids are known to try and get drunk on the stuff. A lot of cough syrups contain Benydril, which is a depressant. I have taken some pretty high doses of it (50 mg-100mg) and it just made me sleepy.
The idea with NyQuil is to knock you out, hard. That way your body gets a chance to rest, and heal. It can fight the infection better after this. It also wears off before you wake up so when you do you don't feel tired. A good night's sleep can make any illness feel a little better.

Yes you can. In Houston, Texas cough syrup can be mixed with Sprite or 7Up and it becomes "sizzurp" or "lean". A Producer by the name of DJ Screw died in 2001 from a lethal overdose of the stuff. Don't try it, man. Read a book, smoke some weed, or learn how to crochet.

First of all, it's cough "SYRUP". And, yes it can also kill you if you take too much of it. Why do you think there's a limit on how much you can take every so many hours? It also tells you NOT to exceed so many doses in so much time.......
Luckily, stupidity is not a crime, so you're free to go.......

Only on a cough syrup with medication such as alcohol or benadryl will cause you too.

If you take right amount it makes you drowsy, so if you take more it will put you to sleep or make you sick. If you get caught driving on it, they'll give you a DUI driving under the influence, because it has alcohol in it. so, don't do anything silly

Yes. If it has codeine in it you can get an opiate buzz.
If it has dextromenaphine you can get a halucenogenic buzz.
I don't recommend trying it tho.
