I was next to another car and motorcycle that stopped the same amount of time but was pulled over anyway. The cop did not ask for proof of insurance and I did not see him call in my liscence plate. The ticket does NOT have a fine amount only a court date. What is the best way to handle this?

State and local penalty assessments are added to base
traffic fines in the total amount of 170% of the base fine.
Therefore, a $100 fine results in a total charge of $270
to a convicted violator.

$100 was the base fine for a first offense as of 1999

You will receive a letter telling you how much to pay (normally)

If you DON'T get a letter, you can call the court and ask. You can also get an extension to a later date if needed.
