Pirates of the Caribbean as the movie, but Harry Potter is the best when it comes to the books.

'The Pirates of the Caribbean' are infinitely better because of the solid character depiction, talented actors and an interesting storyline that doesn't feel the need to pander to eight-year-olds in the audience. The 'Harry Potter' books are excellent but the films leave a lot to be desired and are no-where in the league of 'The Pirates of the Caribbean'.

While i am not a Harry Potter fan, I have heard that the movies are not as good as the books. I would believe this because I have never seen a movie that was as good as the book. Books can provide more detail and insight.
Pirates of the Caribbean is better anyway because Johnny Depp is in it!

Drama queen makes a good point. As much as I love the HP books the movies just don't compare. Since I've never heard of or read a Pirates book I'll have to say I like the Pirates movies better.

Harry Potter because the movies keep getting better and there is also so much hype about the series.

i think pirates was and still is a way better series because it just has that touch that harry potter and alot of other moviesreally dont have.

Pirates of the Carribbean because it's just movies. That way, no one can be mad that they cut something out or deleted a character, it's completely origanal. They don't follow the book with Harry Potterr

hmm, well pirates if funnier and has more action. but it all depends..
the harry potter series is probably only better if your a bigger fan.
