Ok, here how it went down in my house (for about a month!)

Good grades:
A - $8
B - $5
C - $3
D-F = -$3

Chores:
Dishes - $5 - $8 (since nobody wanted to do them)
Everything else $2-$5 dollars

There were some other ways to lose money but I forgot. I think it was if you were assigned a chore and didn't do it then you lost what ever you were supposed to get if you had done the chore.

haha thats funny, i did dishes, cleaned house, my homework etc every day in a house w/ 5 kids from the time i was 8 untill sixteen, i never once got an allowance, after all when you live on your own are you going to get an allowance to take care of your house, if you want money you should get a baby sitting job or mow lawns. just my thought on the matter

YOu shouldn't get an allowance... geesh- these responsilbities have to be done when you move out on your own & nobody is going to pay them for you to clean your own house...

I have a 12 & 14 yr olds- they do their chores- to teach them to pick up afterthemselves & be responsible,

I wonder- would you let the house be filthy- if you weren't getting $

Depends on the income of the parent and the temeperment of the child.

Lazy, back talking , whiny, disobient children get $5.00 helpful, respectful, kind children who do thier chores with out more than 3 reminders get $20.00 plus extras.

I think 20.00 a week is good. And doing chores around the house to earn it so they can learn that you have to work for money. And if they need extra that week they do extra chores. I think that is fair enough.

Depends on chores done. My 13 yo neice gets $15/week. She loads and empties the dishwasher, sets the table, keeps her room and shared bathroom clean and babysits her younger sisters 3 afternoons/week after school.
