The wealthy contol the wealth and the high-paying jobs to a large extent, and by passing their weath on to their children they are contolling who a large portion of the country's wealth is distributed. They also exert a great deal of political influence through lobbyists, to get legislation passed to keep the rich protected from excessive income, capital gain, and estate taxes.

You can control how much you make.
Think about it, we're taught from the time we go to school to get good grades, go to college and a coorperate american company will take care of us maybe even give us a watch when we retire.

Unfortunately, not the people who earned it. The government redistributes wealth in the form of social security and other tax schemes.
