It's a shame that two persons who were happy together couldn't enjoy a lifetime of happiness because they were kept apart by their own fears (well, at least one man's fears) and society's small-mindedness. I think it was trying to say that life is too short and love too precious to let fear and ignorance interfere with happiness.

I love "Brokeback Mountain"! I'm glad it won a few Golden Globes and a couple of Oscars. I hated the fact that they couldn't be 2gether cuz of traditional times and their familes. Heath and Jake were excellent playing gay and in love. I love it so much that I even own it. It's definitely going 2 remain a classic years from now. who cares what other bigots say? screw them!

My friends and I (giggly little girls that we are) decided to watch this movie one night. While I watched it, I kept finding one basic flaw:
Would this movie have gotten all the accolades and awards if the central couple had been straight?
Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie and all, but I think that its social significance kind of made people think that it was better than it was. To me, it was just another "They should be together but they can't" story. I felt like I'd seen it before.
But I did think that the best thing about it was the acting, especially Heath. I loved him as a "blonde bimbo" (as he has referred to his earlier roles) but this movie made it evident that he is all grown up now.

I thought it was a great movie! It was really a beautiful love story..really. Just look past the fact of the gayness..they were in love. I didn't mind watching them make out either.

I thought it was very disappointing. I got the point that they were gay but did they have show it over and over again. But I will have to admit it did keep my attention.

I didn't think too much of it. The story really wasn't too great and the acting left a bit to be desired. Crash was definitely better.

I never got around to seeing it, but I know it pissed off a lot of fundamentalists and evangelicals, so I love it anyway.
