I am living currently in Kansas, and my boyfriend's family believes this. As for evolution, my boyfriend doesn't believe anything.

I come from a scientific family; both my motehr, father and sister are scientists; there is proof that evolution is a fact, not a theory. "superbugs"; pepper moths, and most convincingly, the Galapagos finches.

My BF LOVES to site carbon dating; they tested a muscle shell recently and it tested soemthing like 40,000 years old. What no one TOLD him was that ever since the 1940's, there have been buclear tests which have introduced high rates of radiation into the atmosphere. This is absorbed by the muscle, or human bone tissue, or whatever, and this seriously fvcks up the dating (as we all know, carbon and argon and other radioactive isotopes decay at a predictable rate.) But because of radiation released from nucllear weapons and plants, these readings from anything since that time are null and void.

A different belief? Most people I try to talk to about this really don't understand what evolution is about, and reay don't seem to care. At least they could come up with some clever arguments to appease me.

PS I REALLY don't care about who I've hurt. Most people with "faith" don't care that they hurt me, or others who do not chare their beliefs. I'm sure the asker really doesn't care either. We've been too jaded by people like you who go out and hurt people like us.

So what? I'm sure there are many things you believe that others would call you a moron for. If you feel like fighting with everyone who believes the literal interpretation of the bible, then you are going to have a very confrontational life.

Live and let live. If they're not throwing it in your face, then why go out looking for a fight? Just to prove that you are superior to them? That's called narcissism...help is available.

The earth is 4.6 +/- Billion years old. The bible says that the earth is 6,000 years ago. They are not morons, there is not real evidence that says how old the earth is, so nobody is really right unless we get evidence.

Please don't call them morons, they cannot help the way htey have been brought up - it is not in everyone, the strength to fight against such a tide. Your attitude speaks of anger or untolerance.
