As a 41 year old with 3 kids and a former teen. I am about to tell you some information here, that you can either ignore or choose to learn by.
Assuming you're talking about your parents or guardians and just adults in general.
All adults have gone through what every teenager does. Some go through more, some go through less, but on average, they've "been there". Adults already know the consequences of the actions you take, even though you might not have the foresight for it. The best thing that you can ever do is listen to advice from someone older than you. Chances are, you're going to find out they are right. And one day, you will wake up and find out, that they were right all along, you were just too stubborn to listen to them. Now is your chance, to drop the attitude. Realize you really don't know as much as you think you do and that the adults in fact, do know more, simply just from experience. The best thing you can do, is talk to adults and learn from them. If you have something your contemplating, go to your parents or an adult you can trust and LISTEN. Choose to think about it and keep in mind, they've probably already "been there". Also, it will give you a big advantage, because you can learn from their mistakes, without having to go through them on your own. Your choice.

The don't think they think they are better, they just feel they've been there done that. They may be a little jealous of your youth and may feel that they've earned the right to be respected just by virtue of having lived longer. They may even be wide awake to stuff you can't understand yet. 13-19 isn't even close to grown or worldly. There is a lot to learn even into your 80s if you are lucky enough to get there and beyond. Listen to or hate adults if you want , but they will ultimately have the last laugh because one day soon you'll be one too and some kid or teen will be telling you that you don't know anything and that you think you are better than them. Time and aging is a biatch. Have fun and remember this question when you are 30.

Being an adult is so much better than being a teen. Look on the bright side. You should be glad for that because you will be an adult for most of your life. You just have to survive this age when you know so much that you can't take advice.

I'm tired of that 16-year old teen who drove his truck so fast while talking with his "bud" that he rear-ended the car that hit me.
My back is so whacked out now . . . and this is years later. It'll never be the same.
Smart as s punk, saw me in pain, and never came up to my car after he CAUSED the accident to say "I'm sorry" ...
Could have killed me, and left my son without a mom.
Yeah, you know everything!!
And by the way . . . I AM BETTER THEN YOU!
I can drive better
I can cook better
I can kiss better
I can dress better
I can earn better money
I can argue a point better
HA HA HA a snot nose kid is "tired" of adults thinking that we're better.
We don't think -- we KNOW! And you need to grow up and become just like us ... and some day you will. Providing some dumb as s teenager doesn't slam into your car first!

No, I'm tired of teens who think they have all of lifes answers, and yet don't have a clue what true responsibility is. Know what its like to spend all day at a miserable job to keep the lights on, the rent paid, cable turned on, the insurance paid, groceries in the house, clothes on your backs?? Thats not to mention TRULY adult decisions that have to be made! Do you know what PMI is? How about APR, and how it affects your finances over a long term loan? Escrow anyone? Of course you don't, because you're OBLIVIOUS to the hardships of life, and consumed with some new boyfriend, or whether your going to go all the way with your current one. SELF INDULGENT, SELF CENTERED, UNGRATEFUL TAX DEDUCTIONS

Your going to be an adult someday as well and your going to look back and think god I was a dumbass. I'm tired of the kids thinking they are so much better than everyone else and show no respect for their elders. Grow up.

Many adults are weary of young people who don't realize their behavior is immature. Once teenagers graduate high school and start experiencing the life most adults do they'll understand why adults appear to some young people, as described in the question posted.
