Your optometrist will know best about the type of lense you need. For me, life changed after contact lense. I felt more confident as boys started to notice me for looks instead of intelligence. I could also be more active, the only downside for me, is that I can't open my eyes with contact lense in them underwater.
You can get extended or daily and disposable. No matter which one, just make sure you carry around a bottle of saline solution with you at all times. Enjoy your new sense of freedom!

Contacts are great. I have been wearing them for over 10 years. The one thing you want to try to avoid, even if you get disposables, is that you don't sleep with them in too often. They get really dry and will scratch your eyes. Which is going to cause them to tear up, which you think might be ok, but then your eyes are all red.
I use Baush & Lomb Soflens 59. They are good and inexpensive. Less than $40.00 for 6 pair and you can wear each pair for 1 to 1 1/2 months, provided you don't rip one or something. You will love them. Prepare yourself though, they do take a while to get use to but once you do you will love them!

You need an eye exam, and they will take measurements of your eyes for contacts. You can get either daily wear or extended wear contacts. Extended wear are the ones you can sleep in. You will need cleaning solution and you need to clean them everyday. You have to get a yearly eye exam so the optometrist can write you a prescription. They also check the health of your eyes. Contacts are great, but be careful to take good care of your lenses.

i use contacts, i get annual ones. those are kind of expensive though.
i had a hard time putting them in my eye for a good month before i got used to it/ good at it.
Theyre SO much better than glasses, only thing is that if there is ever an eyelash in your eye... WATCH out! it hurts!! lol
oh and as long as you dont sleep in them you;ll be good. Although some can be worn to sleep, its ALWAYS better not to.
I will admit that my first time with contacts i lost them once or twice, but as long as your blind and you NEED your contacts to see, youll never lose them lol.
Good Luck

I like Acuvue, but if its your first time with contacts get clear lenses and later if you like them you can decide to get colored ones.

I prefer my glasses. I had a trial pair and wore them about three times. You lose them, they tear, if you don't put them in right they blur, and it always feels like you have something stuck in your eye. Get a trial pair and see how you feel about them first. It could end up being a colossal waste of money.
