A LPN makes a lot more and has a lot more responsibilities. It takes a year education after prerequisites are met. A nursing assistant in Fort Wayne Ind. makes 8-10 an hour and does the grunt work. CNA training takes approximately six weeks. Rather than the pay and the work it takes a special person to work with the sick. I've been a nurse for fifteen years.

A nursing assistant works in nursing homes wiping old people's butt's and taking vital signs and they only make up to about 10$ an hour. Now an LPN makes big money. About 30$ an hour or more. It requires about a year and a half of school.
