Okay I don't know how to break this to you so I'm just going to say it.
Wrestling - isn't real. It's staged. It's fake. That's not to take anything away from their abilities. They're very athletic, but they're also performers. That's why they call it 'sports-entertainment'.
By the way, there's no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny either.

I really don't know. I used to love him when i was younger but watching Hogan Knows best I totally agree that he is an ego maniac. I think the only reason his daughter got her record deal was because of his show( I am not saying she doens't have talent but the song isn't that great and the video looks like every britney video ever made). I think in the wrestling world he gets his way so much because he is such a big draw and money maker. As much as I can't stand him whenever I hear the "Hulksters" music it the arena i get excited and and start cheering. Very odd indead.

Because thats the way he was, is and always will be. Remember, he made pro wrestling and without him there will be no wrestling in the future. He is georgous george, bruno sammartino, the funks, the briscos, the andersons, the kangaroos, antonino rocca, ernie ladd, harley race, ric flair, lou thesz, vern gagne, the blackjacks, the valentines, nick bockwinkle, taru tanaka, ivan koloff, magnum t.a., dusty rhodes and andre the giant all rolled into one. If you don't believe me, just ask him. He would say he could beat them all in a single night. Face it, Hogan will never be more than an egocentric a$$hole who feels the business will not survive his retirement. When he was in WCW in the 90s and it was going down the toilet, (right around the same time such stars as The Rock, HHH, and Steve Austin were making their name), did you miss him? I sure didn't. He should just go away. He offers nothing to the current state of wrestling.

Because many top line wrestlers who enjoyed the limelight have a hard time away from it.
Hulk Hogan is almost 50.
Ric Flair is 53
Terry Funk is approaching 55.
Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Tatanka, Kevin Nash are all pushing or over 40. What drives them to keep going?
All were on top somewhere and they want it back.
How many remember Ric flair in the old AWA (it folded around 1990)?
Shawn Michaels in the AWA and USWA?
Undertaker as Mean Mark Callous (His real name) in the NWA?
Sting when he teamed with the Ultimate Warrior in the UWA?
THAT's how old most are right now.

Because he is straight out a wrestler.
Most of them turn out that way.
They just /somehow/ break out in their 'mean' state, beginning to get protective, and then turn into ego maniacs.
That's why he's all big and bad with his family.
Makes others seem actually practical in a way.
And plus, he's famous which makes it worse.
