Wow! I really needed that breath of fresh air. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. Of course it's not getting any better. Not in the fundamentally necessary way. And it isn't going to get better. But, better days are in fact coming. Unfortunately, not for everyone. They'd hate it besides. I'm glad I, personally, have peace within myself irrespective of the daily grind and hassles. I know I don't have too long to wait. Above all I'm terribly grateful. That's why people like you appear once in a while!!!!!!Thank you!

Society may be getting worse in some ways. The following are the ways in which society has gotten better in the last 5 years:
1. The United States killed thousands of theocratic terrorists and other fanatics in Afghanistan and Iraq, and has liberated the people of those countries.
2. The internet has become more popular, including forums, associations, and match-making. Such freedom of association and access to knowledge has improved society.
3. De facto sexual equality for minors has improved, or so I've heard.

Yes. People always think their society is going to hell and a handbasket. But we are living longer with better health than ever before. We have more choices, we are wealthier, we can vacation anywhere on the planet. We can keep in touch with friends via phone or Internet for almost no cost. Society is good. Opportunities exist that my grandparents could only dream of.

I'm a real person, however I'm also a realist. It's fine to be happy with what you have(and I have been pondering this question for awhile myself),but people also need things to do more for those they care about which is why I strive to make improvements in my life and the lives of those less fotunate. Not so much for material gain but to be able to enjoy what I have, and to leave it to my son after I have moved on to the next stage of life.

Definitely getting worse. Culture is becoming more materialistic but there's less for the poor ... rich are getting richer and everyone else is getting poorer ... infrastructure (roads etc) is being neglected ... environment is getting worse ... news media is becoming less and less informative, more concerned about ratings, owned by a few corporations ... no raise in the minimum wage, no raise in fuel efficiency standards ... FDA is letting bad food and drugs slip through all the time ... country is more vulnerable to attack and less able to defend itself because soldiers are all tied up in Iraq ... the list goes on.

I feel that society is getting progressively worse. While chivalry may not be dead, it is certainly on its last leg and people have no patience or respect for anything or anyone anymore. It seems as though people are so often in a hurry over nothing that they'll step over anyone to get something faster; even if it's completely unnecessary.

As an entire inner peace is on a steep decline psychological wellbeing subject concerns are the selection one illness in the u . s . a .. lots of the psychological wellbeing subject concerns stem from stress and melancholy which comes from a loss of inner peace. very own peace has additionally seen a step decline. very own peace is like your guy or woman life your loved ones, acquaintances, significant different etc. precise now approximately 50% of marriages lead to divorce. better than 50% of infants have a one parent abode. the u . s . a . incarcerates greater human beings than the different u . s . in the worldwide. worldwide peace has not at all been finished there is often a warfare or revolution or a genocide taking place in the worldwide some the place. the factor is you won't have the ability to have peace with out the prince of peace who's Jesus. John sixteen:33, "those issues I certainly have spoken unto you, that for the period of me ye ought to have peace. in the worldwide ye shall have tribulation: yet be of solid cheer; I certainly have triumph over the worldwide." No.No.No!!
Let me relate a story that happened yesterday.I was going into the post office, and behind me was an older man, alone ,in a wheelchair.I noticed him,so opened the door to let him in.I also allowed him to get in front of me in the long line.he was very grateful.
Well, finally it was my turn to mail my package. As I was paying my postage,I noticed him struggling with the door trying to leave...and the 10 or so people waiting in line were just ignoring him! I was livid, said "excuse me one moment"to the clerk, and went to once again help him with the 2 exit doors. When I got back 45 seconds later,I wispered a quasi-apology to the clerk, who said "no problem."(She saw what I was doing.)
At that point,a 20-something male burst out..."You held up the line!!"
I could hardly believe it.The only thing I could think to say was "Gee-I hope you are never in a wheelchair!"
This is society today,sadly.

I understand that, "real people," part. We are raised by TV in this day and age. Some even commented after 9-11 that it was like watching a movie. We have become robots.

There is good news, our so called Religious right is about to be knocked down a peg, they set the standard in Washington. It will turn around again when the United States turns around in 07. Bless you and hang in there.
