You just forgive him because once you do that you have no reason to hate him any longer. Hate only hurts you so why choose to do something that is damaging you more. Hate is a choice you don't have to make. You will find that forgiving him takes away the power you are giving him to hurt you and he may be surprised at how you forgiving him will make him feel about himself and you.

I think I passionately hate those that are close to me more than political figures, etc.. though I do hate Socrates, and would flay him alive with my unmanicured fingertips.

For myself, I just understand that the person can't help it. Whatever they're doing. And you may not be able to help them in their state, or even in the forseeable future. You can try, but I don't recommend it aways. Retaliation and punishment just makes both parties cold to the conflict. If you can't work it out together, at least work it out for yourself.

You are not dead, so do you want to be remembered as a hateful man? If you hate you will be hateful. Simple.

Knowing that stop. Why? Because you don't want to be someone who you are not.

What about the other guy? He is obvoiusly a hateful man. Do you want to be like him? It doesn't read like it.

Move on and get more love in your life and there won't be enough room for hate. It is that simple.

Try to remember that there is good in everybody you saw it once
Hate will eat your heart up and make your life miserable, just understand that there will be some people that you are better off without maybe for someone else he may be just what the doctor ordered.

You forgive them. The hate isn't harming that person; s/he probably doesn't care whether or not you hate him, but it makes you angry and bitter. There are probably sites on the web that tell you how to do it better than I could. Forgiveness is something you do for yourself, not the other person.

You hate yourself...How? That which you know about him is that which you thought about him. That how you create picture of another and its alive within you. You might or might not project that pic on him. If you do then you will run away from him, scared. He will reflect it back and you will see reflection of yourself. If you are not projecting that picture outside then you have painful conflict within you. Drop that picture you created, and meaning "I know him" you don't and cannot know, he is much bigger that you think, as well as you are.Let go that created picture, and forgive.

Let it go. It's hard but it can be done, forgiveness frees the one who forgives. The one who shouldn't have to carry the burden of hate. I hope you can, life can be wonderful without hate.

Just let it go. You're bad energy isn't going to help YOUR case. Let the punishing to god. Forgive but never forget. Just stop hating, there is enough of that out there.

I hated someone who did something horrible to me...then I realized that we need to have bad things happen to us in order to make us stronger and smarter. I also feel that it is easier on our soul if we forgive them but not forget what they did. Hate makes people sick emotionally sometimes and can cause us to do things that we normally would not do.

Try to ignore him, and be polite to him. Don't engage in any conversation with him, but don't be rude about it. When you're around him, just take a deep breath and relax.
