no they can't , not licensed to, a paremedic can do it and an actual doc can do it but not an anesthesiologist... they put u out for surgerys but that is it

Yes, most of them can. But there is usually a surgeon in the room with an anesthesiologist, so the surgeon will usually do it. And you don't need a separate license to do it. Being a doctor is enough. It's just a question of what that doctor is comfortable doing.

An anesthesiologist is a licensed physician (MD or DO) like any other and has been trained to do this. If he/she hasn't performed one of these procedures in a long time, they may request that another physician perform the procedure.

In emergencies I would say yes, they are doctors.
